So you think you'd like a GOLD MEDAL? This is what it takes:

...a week in the life of PanAm Gold Medalist Athlete Monica Pinette...
MONDAY

5:20 wake up, go to swim from 5:45-7:30

7:45 quick breakfast then off to ride at 8:30-10:00, then 10:30-11:30 easy run

12:00 lunch and 1:00-3:00 nap!

4:00 early dinner so as to get to the range (hour drive) for 5:30-6:30 shooting practice

7:00-9:00 fence, then repeat the hour drive home, have a late dinner with light stretching for dessert and head to bed.

TUESDAY

7:00 wake up and head to 8:00-10:00 run: intensity workout

10:00 breakfast: correct eating is important for recovery

10:30 dry fire practise

2:00 lunch, then to gym for an hour and 15 minutes of weights

4:30-6:00 swim

6:30 dinner with 8:00 therapeutic massage

WEDNESDAY

5:30 wake up, go to swimming 5:45-7:00

7:45-8:00 breakfast then ride 8:30-10:00  

12:00-3:00 lunch and nap!

5:30 early dinner

6:00 leave for hour drive to fencing: 7:00-9:00, drive home, dinner, stretching, bed... finally!

THURSDAY

7:00 wake up, off to 8:00-10:00 run: tempo workout with drills

10:00 breakfast

2:00 lunch

2:30-3:00 dry fire 

3:00-4:15 weights

4:30-6:00 swim, off to 6:30 dinner and an evening off!

FRIDAY

5:20 wake up, go to swim from 5:45-7:30

7:45 quick breakfast then off to ride at 8:30-10:00, then 10:30-11:30 easy run

12:00 lunch and 1:00-3:00 nap!

4:00 early dinner so as to get to the range (hour drive) for 5:30-6:30 shooting practice

SATURDAY

7:00 wake up and breakfast, drive to fencing

9:00-11:00 fencing, home by noon

12:00 quick lunch then off to weights 12:30-1:30

1:30-2:00 dry fire

2:00-3:30 ride

3:30-5:00 run workout, then  5:30 dinner and the evening off!

SUNDAY

7:00 wake up

7:30-8:30 run

The rest of the day for rest and recovery!!!
Repeat for four to six years and you'll be in gold medal contention!!
