Funding
FUNDING CRITERIA FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
1). BASIC FUNDING ($750.00)
The athlete must achieve, at a UIPM-sanctioned qualifying competition
held
within the twelve months prior to the World Championships, a four-event
score
(shoot, swim, fence, run) that, after UIPM adjustments, equals or exceeds
the
semi-final score required for an athlete to reach the final of the
previous
year’s World Championships. (see grid below)
Note: In the event that the previous year’s World Championships did
not include
a semi-final, the athlete’s score must equal or exceed the
shoot/fence/swim/ride/run score of the 16th-place athlete of the previous
year world championships.
2). ADDITIONAL FUNDING: ($500.00)
An athlete who qualifies for the final of the World Championships will
receive
an additional $500.00.
Note: If the World Championships have no semi-final, the athlete will
qualify
for the additional funding by placing in the top 16.
Note: If an athlete attends worlds without qualifying for the basic
funding and reaches the final he/she will receive the Basic Funding and
Additional Funding. In the case of a Worlds without a semifinal where the
athlete has not previously qualified for Basic Funding he/she can receive
the Basic Funding and Additional funding if they place in the top sixteen.
3). TEAM RELAY FUNDING: ($250.00)
Athletes who compete in the team relay competition will receive $250.00.
Note: An athlete who competes in the relay but has not qualified for the
basic
funding will receive only the relay funding.
Note: The higher-ranked athletes will have the first choice to compete in the
relay.
Only those athletes who actually compete in the relay will receive the
Team Relay Funding.
Note: All funding is conditional upon submission of original receipts.
Note: At the present time CAMPA does not fund athletes to attend the
Masters World Championships.
