CAMPA RANKING SYSTEM

The CAMPA Ranking List will be used for the purpose of selection to international Qualifying Competitions and naming the National Teams.

All Canadian athletes who compete in national or international competitions will be ranked on the CAMPA ranking list. Athletes must have competed in a division within the ranking year to be ranked in that division.  The CAMPA ranking list will be based on the Pentathlon World Cup Ranking system using points awarded for placing in competitions.  Competitions are graded Level I  (World Championships and World Cup Finals), Level II (International qualifying competitions, Level III (smaller international qualifying competitions).  In each different level of competition the UIPM points are different.  Please see UIPM Point Table in the Appendix.  The CAMPA ranking system will take the two best international results and add them to the ranking points achieved at both the Summer and Winter Nationals.  Please see the Ranking Lists in the Appendix.

The athletes ranked highest on the ranking list will have first refusal for International Qualifying Competitions.  In the case where the official team has their expenses covered by the competition organizing committee, but more athletes can attend at their own expense, the higher ranked athletes make up the official team.

Note:  For senior ranking only senior competitions are used.  For masters ranking only masters competitions are used.  The Junior ranking may use results from senior competitions.  Youth A ranking may use junior and senior competitions. Youth B ranking will use only Youth B competitions.  The CAMPA ranking list will rate the Asian, African, and Pan American Championships as Level II competitions.  The Pan-Am Junior Championships, Canadian National Championships and Winter Championships will be rated as Level III competitions.   All athletes will receive a ranking, whether or not they have an international score.
